Directions from Derby railway station

Taxi - This will cost approximately £4.00 dependent on traffic. A taxi rank can be found outside the station on the left hand side.

Walking - To walk will take approximately 10-15 minutes.

Go the end of Midland Road (past the taxi rank and Midland Hotel on the left).
At the traffic lights turn right onto London Road.
Cross over the roundabout (past M&S on the right) and keep going, past Woolworths on your right hand side, and the Clock Tower (commonly known at 'The Spot') to your left.
Follow the road round to the left (where the road bends at Waterstones Bookshop) and continue to the junction with Gower Street (opposite Hunters Furniture store) where you turn right.
At the end of the road turn left onto Green Lane and Crompton Street is the next right turning (virtually opposite).
Chuckles Guest House is on the right hand side halfway down, just past the Crompton Tavern pub.

Directions from bus drop-off point

A new Derby Bus Station is being constructed. Currently buses complete their journey close to the Market Square usually on Full Street or Derwent Street.

On foot - To walk will take approximately 5-10 minutes.

Walk across the market square towards the waterfall - other landmarks to look for are the Tourist Information Office and Assembly Rooms on your right.
Keep on left hand side and turn into the Cornmarket.
Cross the road (Victoria Street) and turn left.
Proceed to Green Lane (just a few metres), which has pedestrian access.
Walk up the hill and turn second right onto Crompton Street.
Chuckles Guest House is on the right hand side halfway down, just past the Crompton Tavern pub.

Directions by road from the South

Leave the M1 at Junction 25.
At the roundabout take the 1st exit and then merge onto the A52 (signposted Derby).
Continue forward onto A52 - Brian Clough Way.
At the Pentagon Island roundabout take the 2nd exit and keep following the signs City Centre South, Inner Ring Road).
Follow the signpost Loughborough A6, Melbourne A514, Burton A38 onto Bradshaw Way - A601 (signposted Inner Ring Road, Melbourne A514. (The Westfield shopping centre will be on your right and the Gala bingo hall and Murco garage on your left.)
Straight across the next roundabout (past Matalan on your right) and stay in right hand lane.
Turn right at the junction/island at the top, then first left onto Wilmot Street (cab firm on corner) and almost immediately right onto Backsitwell Street.
Follow this windy road all the way to the right (past After Dark lighting shop on the corner) and bear right (one way street) onto Babington Lane.
Follow road round to the left onto Gower Street (past Hunters Furniture store on the left).
At the end (just a few metres) turn left onto Green Lane and almost immediately opposite turn right onto Crompton Street and Chuckles Guest House is on the right hand side halfway down, just past the Crompton Tavern pub.

Directions by road from the North

If leaving the M1 at Junction 25 see directions (from the South) or alternatively, leave the M1 at Junction 28 (sign posted Derby, Matlock).
Then at the roundabout take the 3rd exit onto the A38 (signposted Matlock).
Continue forward on the A38, entering Swanwick.
Continue forward on the A38, entering Ripley.
At the Little Eaton roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Abbey Hill (signposted Ring Road, Burton, Birmingham).
Continue forward onto Abbey Hill.
Entering Derby on the A38, at the roundabout take the 1st exit onto Ashbourne Road - A52 (signposted City Centre).
At the traffic signals turn left (signposted Inner Ring Road, Matlock A6).
Keep in the right hand lane then at the traffic signals turn right (signposted Inner Ring Road, Ashbourne).
Then immediately at the traffic signals continue forward (signposted Inner Ring Road, City Centre).
Bear left then shortly at the traffic signals bear right (signposted Inner Ring Road, Station).
Turn left onto Wilson Street.
Turn left onto Green Lane.
Chuckles Guest House is on the right hand side halfway down, just past the Crompton Tavern pub.
